About Faunix

Toni Escandell, driven by the desire to share the values of the natural world and its wildlife, set out to create and promote an audiovisual content channel. Its name, Faunix.tv: “The world that shows you the fauna of the planet.”

A digital, educational channel of public interest designed to teach, inform, entertain, and engage audiences of all ages while they learn about the animals of our planet. A world of biodiversity right before our eyes!

The Faunix team is made up of experts from various fields of biology and the audiovisual industry. This fusion of specialists has a clear mission: to explore, study, research, inform, and document—through image and sound—the behavior, phenomena, and unique characteristics of the world’s wildlife, and to share it through faunix.tv in the form of documentaries, series, interviews, and soon, educational content for students.

Who is Toni Escandell?

Born in 1962, Toni Escandell is the founder of the production company Paleârtica Films and an accomplished naturalist experienced in filming wildlife. He has worked with Sir David Attenborough of the BBC on his series “Life in Cold Blood.”

Toni Escandell has gained considerable popularity among viewers in the Balearic Islands as the presenter of the series “Baleares Salvaje” (Wild Balearic Islands). His career highlights include:

 

 

• Director, cameraman, and screenwriter of the internationally screened documentary “Shipwrecked by Evolution,” which has aired on ARTE France, Germany, and other channels, as well as in Asia: China, Vietnam, Korea, Thailand, etc.

A documentary featuring new discoveries for science, some of which have been the subject of study by scientists and botanists.

Shipwrecked by Evolution has won several international awards:

Best European Documentary Award at the Wildlife Conservation Film Festival in New York. 2017

Second Jury Prize at the Ménigoute International Ornithological Film Festival in France. 2017
